The Nature of Beauty
One of my art teachers, the brilliant Amer Kobaslija, said to me once, “Don’t be afraid of making something beautiful. If it has meaning, that makes it more beautiful.”
Beauty is vastly misunderstood. It has nothing to do with the physical appearance of someone or something. True beauty is a frequency, a light that emanates from whatever you feel in your heart is beautiful. It’s not always symmetrical, or organized – often it’s a moment of respite in a sea of total chaos.
All you have to do is pause for a moment to observe beauty.
It’s usually right in front of you. Or more accurately, right behind you.
